On March 20, 2013, Bob Garst, Brian Mortensen and David Sheddan with BFA Technologies, Inc. headed west to Phoenix AZ for three days of intensive training with BFA's close partner, Lightspeed. This event was attended by over 100 Lightspeed partners from the U.S. and around the world. Moreover, it proved to be extremely valuable for BFA from a number of perspectives; and we're excited about putting our product training and newfound knowledge to use for BFA's point-of-sale (POS) clients...both existing and future.
With a $30M infusion of capital last summer from Accel Partners, an already wildly successful Lightspeed is poised to move to the "next level" in the fast-changing world of point-of-sale (POS). Retail businesses are looking more and more to engage more closely with their clients as well to leverage the new world of mobile devices in assisting them in doing so. And Lightspeed is clearly an industry leader on both fronts.
As is always the case at events such as this, BFA was also able to learn a great deal through exchange with other Lightspeed partners. They shared their success stories both formally - through group presentations - and informally during breaks and social gatherings. And not only will their client experiences help BFA to better server our clients, but the friendships and comradery that resulted from those discussions will last a very long time.
BFA Technologies, Inc. - in less than (12) months of partnership with Lightspeed - has now assisted (8) retail businesses with their POS needs. And we are now actively working with (5) more businesses towards some exciting solutions involving both multi-store as well as large numbers of iPads.
